Blog 5- Course Design

Summary:

In this module, we are creating our own course. We talked about if we will create our own materials, use others material, and the copyrights of using others material. There are pros and cons to using others materials as well as creating your own materials. There are also guidelines to follow when creating your own material.

Item of Interest:

My item of interest is determining which things I will create on my own and which things I will use from others. Also, will I end up changing some of my initial plans as I create my course? My mini lesson is also an item of interest. In module six the students will create a mini lesson on multiplication. With this mini lesson activity, I am not sure if I will require students to use technology. I feel that it would be a good idea but time is limited for this activity.

Problem or Concern:

One of my concerns is having a student who does not have access to a computer at home to play the review games or watch my lecture videos. I could create review games for them that do not require a computer but I am not sure what I would do about the lecture videos. Also for the students who do not have a problem with access a computer but do not watch the lecture videos what do I do about them? Do they just suffer or do I take time to let them watch it in class?
